Ingredients
boiled shelled peas (matar) – 2 cups oil – 2 tbsp tomato (cut into 8 pieces) – 1 dried kasoori methi (fenugreek leaves) – 2 tbsp sesame seeds (dry roasted) – 1¼ tsp for garnishingfor masala
onions roughly chopped – 2 garlic flakes – 2 sesame seeds (til) – 2 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera) – 1 tbsp ground coriander (dhania powder) – 1 tbsp red chilli powder – ½ tbsp turmeric (haldi) – ¼ tbsp salt – as requiredInstructions
To prepare the masala, grind all ingredients with a little water to a fine paste. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Reduce heat. Add the masala and fry for about 2 minutes, stirring continuously. Add tomato pieces, boiled peas and kasoori methi. Stir fry for 4-5 minutes on low heat. Serve sprinkled with a few roasted sesame seeds (til).
