Til Mil Matar


boiled shelled peas (matar) 2 cups oil 2 tbsp tomato (cut into 8 pieces) 1 dried kasoori methi (fenugreek leaves) 2 tbsp sesame seeds (dry roasted) 1¼ tsp for garnishing

for masala

onions roughly chopped 2 garlic flakes 2 sesame seeds (til) 2 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera) 1 tbsp ground coriander (dhania powder) 1 tbsp red chilli powder ½ tbsp turmeric (haldi) ¼ tbsp salt as required


To prepare the masala, grind all ingredients with a little water to a fine paste. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Reduce heat. Add the masala and fry for about 2 minutes, stirring continuously. Add tomato pieces, boiled peas and kasoori methi. Stir fry for 4-5 minutes on low heat. Serve sprinkled with a few roasted sesame seeds (til).
